2019年に行われたラグビーW杯「ラグビーは、アートだ。」というテーマの元、ラグビー経験のある日本を代表する美術科、音楽家、建築家、デザイナー15名とともに、ラグビーボール等をモチーフにした作品を制作するART SCRUMという展示が行われました。
ubushinaでは橋本夕紀夫さんの作品製作に携わらせていただいています。
ラグビーのスクラム をモチーフに、木組みで構造を作り、仕上げに朱漆と箔を施しています。
伝統工芸の掛け合わせ、木組み × 朱漆 × 箔 というCRAFT SCRUM という作品になりました。
ART SCRUM “Rugby is Art” is an art exhibition project to support Japanese team in the Rugby World Cup 2019, organized by Mitsubishi Estate. Totally 15 cultural figures in Japan including artists, musicians, architects, are designers who used to play rugby are brought together to create original artworks.
We are honored to have produced Yukio Hashimoto’s work “CRAFT SCRUM” that is combination of different traditional crafts. The woodwork models on the form of scrum and Red Urushi Lacquer and Gold Leaves are used for finishing.
